Merit Awards Based on Scholarship, Leadership, and Service

Scholarships are awarded annually to a high school graduating
student or students (depending on funds available) who attend the
University of Kansas on a full time basis. Preference may be
given to students from Kansas. If an applicant is not selected
for a current year, then a prior year recipient may renew her or
his scholarship, if Grade Point Average (GPA) requirements are
maintained (please see below). Funds will be made available
through the Fund on K.U.'s campus. These scholarships are
merit-based!

Submission Requirements:

1.   High School applicant should have a GPA of 3.7 or better.
2.   Must maintain a 3.0 or better GPA for scholarship renewal.
3.   Signing of application is applicant's certification that the
applicant is "drug free," and abstains from drug abuse.  Any
substance abuse results in termination of the scholarship award.
4.   Application must include a 500-word essay on a topic of
history of interest to the student.
